Mr. Faith was born in Beaumont, Texas. He received a master's degree in Network Security in 2005 and a BS in Computer Engineering in 1999. Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Faith was a research engineer employed by the University of Texas in Austin.
Daniel Faith entered on duty with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2003 as a Special Agent. Upon graduation from the FBI Academy, he was assigned to the Houston Field Office where he worked computer intrusions, cyber-crime, intellectual property rights, and violent crimes against children. Mr. Faith was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) and served as the program manager for the Botnet Threat Focus Cell.
Mr. Faith was promoted to field SSA investigating Russian state-sponsored computer intrusions and criminal computer intrusions. His work earned him the NSA National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation in 2016. In 2019, Mr. Faith was promoted to Deputy Legal Attaché, Canberra, Australia managing all operational and administrative programs for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Mr. Faith oversaw the response to the Christchurch, New Zealand shootings in 2019 earning Legat Canberra the Director's Award for Excellence in International Operations.
In 2021, Mr. Faith was named Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the San Antonio Field Office managing San Antonio's Cyber, CIRG and administrative programs.
In 2022, Mr. Faith was named the Section Chief of Counterterrorism's Technology and Data Innovation Section focusing on using technology and automation to increase efficiencies throughout Counterterrorism Division. In 2025, Mr. Faith was name Law Enforcement Attache for Ottawa, Canada. This role had him overseeing all FBI matters for Canada.
In 2026, Mr. Faith was named Special Agent in Charge for the San Antonio Field Office where he oversees 60 counties and 1,254 miles of the Texas-Mexico border
