Dale Hoak is the Chief Information Security Officer at RegScale, where he was the company’s first security hire. He leads security, compliance, and trust strategy for a high-growth SaaS platform and is responsible for FedRAMP High authorization, DoD IL5 alignment, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and CMMC Level 2 across a multi-cloud environment. He built the program from the ground up as RegScale scaled from pre-Series A startup to market innovator, including a 24/7/365 Security Operations Center, secure SDLC pipelines, and automated evidence collection aligned to NIST 800-53 Rev 5. His work embeds compliance as code, turning traditional GRC into real-time risk visibility for boards and customers. Dale brings more than 30 years of cybersecurity leadership across the public and private sectors. As a U.S. Navy veteran and IT Security Operations Manager for the Department of Defense, he directed cybersecurity for the Eastern Seaboard’s largest Network Operations Center. At General Dynamics Information Technology, he implemented the Risk Management Framework to certify and accredit seven coalition networks. At the NYPD, he stood up the first fully operational SOC, and as a consultant with CyberProof, he supported global security transformation for Ferguson Enterprises, covering 45,000+ endpoints and 37 major incidents.
A frequent speaker in the GRC community, Dale has presented at Microsoft Ignite, AFCEA West, JFCOM, GPSEC NYC, the National Cyber Summit, the National CISO Transformation Assembly, and ISACA GRC. He is a vocal advocate for making compliance operational instead of painful.
