Scot Miller is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer at Mr. Cooper Group, where he leads the company’s cybersecurity strategy and risk management efforts. In this role he is responsible for building and guiding high-performing security and operations teams, advancing identity governance and compliance functions, and overseeing the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risk across all of Mr. Cooper’s business entities. Under his leadership, the firm’s initiatives in identity governance and compliance earned the prestigious Cybersecurity Team of the Year and CSO50 Awards in 2021, reflecting innovation, operational agility, and measurable business impact. His work has also been recognized with “Top 100 Global CISO” honors in multiple years.
Prior to joining Mr. Cooper, Miller served as CISO for HMS, where he led information security for a major healthcare information services organization. He also held senior security roles including Head of Global IT Security at Alcon Laboratories and Chief Security Architect at MassMutual Financial Group, and he was Vice President and CTO for the Connecticut chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). Throughout his career he has presented on information security and technology governance at industry consortiums and executive forums across the United States and has been featured in national magazine articles and security symposiums. He also serves on the Dallas CISO Board, contributing strategic insights and leadership to the broader security community.
Miller holds advanced professional certifications including CISSP and CISM, and he combines deep technical expertise with a strong focus on building resilient security cultures that align with organizational goals and evolving threat landscapes.
