Randy Rose

Randy Rose is the Vice President of Security Operations & Intelligence at the Center for Internet Security (CIS). In his role, he leads the cyber operational missions for the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) which provides no-cost and low-cost cybersecurity services to the nation’s state, local, tribal, and territorial governments. He oversees strategy and mission execution for the 24×7 Security Operations Center, Cyber Incident Response Team, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Red Team, and Technical Liaison team. These teams focus on bringing real value to under-resourced and under-served organizations that keep our government functioning and our nation free and secure. He has spent most of his career in public service, from the local level to the federal level, supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), both in and out of uniform, and the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). He led Europe’s largest Security Operations Center (SOC) for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and directed efforts to build the DoD’s first dedicated Cyber Threat Intelligence department at the Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC). He served as NY state’s first penetration tester for local governments and schools. Randy has specific experience leading global incident response operations, implementing new technologies, discovering innovative solutions to save costs and reduce risk, and developing programs to assess cyber risk for municipal-owned Operational Technology. Randy holds his CISSP, GMLE, GSTRT, GCTI, and GREM, as well as a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and a Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Anthropology. He is a recent graduate of the Tuck Executive Education program at Dartmouth. He moonlights as an adjunct professor at Siena College in NY and as the bassist in original rock band Gracie’s Paris, which can be heard on all major streaming platforms.
