Mark Urban is Vice President of Product Marketing for Data Security and Governance at Proofpoint, where he leads the integrated platform spanning DLP, DSPM, DAG, SIPM, Communications Governance, and Data Security for AI.  Mark has spent 25 years partnering with CIOs, CISOs, and their teams to navigate the most complex intersections of business strategy and cybersecurity technology. Through more than 200 direct engagements with Global 2000 IT and security executives, he has helped enterprises make sense of platform transitions, regulatory shifts, and the AI reinvention now reshaping the security stack. He is an active AI practitioner — running a production AI-embedded operating system in his own workflow, including detailed research on AI security and governance. Wisconsin born and raised, he is now based in Berkeley, California.
