Mikael Vinding currently serves as Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Information Officer at AP Technology, a payments technology provider serving financial institutions, corporations, and municipal entities. He brings more than 15 years of experience leading security and technology programs in software and financial services environments, with a focus on aligning security, technology, and business outcomes.

Previously, Mikael worked with the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on international business development initiatives, supporting the global expansion of technology and cybersecurity companies. His work focused on market entry, partnerships and go-to-market strategy, helping firms establish and scale their presence internationally.

Earlier in his career, Mikael was a technology founder, building a mobile and social communications startup from the ground up. Through that work, he gained hands-on experience with fundraising, board engagement, product/market strategy, and scaling an enterprise-grade communications platform, with security designed in from the beginning. This experience shaped his perspective on building products where speed, trust, and resilience must coexist.

Today, Mikael builds and operates security and technology programs in close partnership with engineering, product, and executive teams, while remaining deeply engaged in the global cybersecurity community. He regularly contributes to discussions on how the CISO role is evolving as security becomes inseparable from leadership, judgment, and business decision-making.
