Jenina Brown

Jenina Brown is a Director in Grant Thornton's IT Assurance practice based in Southfield, Michigan. She has more than 18 years of experience in IT Audit and Information Security, including eight years in Internal Audit leadership roles. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Jenina managed IT Audit departments for two international automotive suppliers. Jenina has led IT Audit, Risk, and Advisory engagements for public and private organizations across a broad range of industries.

Jenina serves as Grant Thornton's Oracle Subject Matter Expert (SME) team leader and is a member of the firm's Linux and AS400 SME teams. Her background includes assessing IT controls, cybersecurity risks, and governance practices across organizations subject to SOX, COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST, and GLBA requirements. She has experience evaluating cybersecurity programs, system implementations, disaster recovery, vendor management, and information security governance.

Jenina holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certifications. She earned a Master of Science in Information Assurance and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.

Jenina serves on the Boards of Directors for the ISACA Detroit Chapter and ISSA Motor City Chapter and is an adjunct professor teaching IT Audit at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She also participates in university recruiting, cybersecurity club events, NABA conferences and student chapter programs, helping students explore careers in technology and cybersecurity.

As organizations increasingly adopt artificial intelligence technologies, Jenina has worked with clients to understand their use of AI, evaluate governance practices, and assess policies and controls designed to support responsible implementation. She is passionate about helping organizations balance innovation, risk management, security, and regulatory compliance.
