Alex Salazar, is an IT Security Architect for Snohomish County, where he leads efforts across incident response, security testing, compliance and policy evaluation, identity and access management, AI risk management, and cryptography. He brings more than 14 years of combined intelligence and cybersecurity experience.

Before joining Snohomish County, Alex supported federal cybersecurity initiatives through CISA, contributing to national‑level risk mitigation and supporting local organizations in Washington State. His background also includes service in the Army National Guard, where he continues to serve as a Captain, providing leadership in intelligence, security, and operational readiness.

Alex also serves as a board member with Washington State’s Evergreen InfraGard Chapter and remains active in the PNW veteran community. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from Central Washington University and a Master of Science from the University of Washington. He also holds a CISSP from ISC2.

Alex is passionate about strengthening public‑sector cybersecurity, advancing community resilience, and supporting those who serve.
